I am a clinical psychologist with over 15 years’ experience working with clients of all ages, both in the NHS and private healthcare. I am fully accredited with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and have particular expertise helping children and teenagers.

My areas of experience and interest include: developmental disorders (including Autism and ADHD); intense emotional difficulties; mood disorders (including all types of anxiety); obsessive-compulsive disorder; body dysmorphic disorder; gender identity related difficulties; selective mutism; Tics and Tourettes; excessive stress; unresolved loss and adjustment difficulties; trauma and abuse related difficulties (incl. victims of sexual and drug related exploitation); self-destructive behaviour (including self-harming, substance misuse, self-sabotaging), sleep difficulties; enuresis and encopresis; demand avoidance; and restrictive behavioural patterns (e.g. restricted eating). I have also worked successfully with young people experiencing voices, visual hallucinations, delusions and dissociative experiences to alleviate their distress.

My approach involves building early trust and rapport to provide a safe and validating experience of therapy, working collaboratively with clients and their families to achieve specific and realistic goals. I work with clients to build a picture of their needs and strengths and then tailor a suitable evidence-based intervention, which would include elements of cognitive-behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

I am also experienced in collaborating with and advising other professionals working with clients; and offering consultation to clients’ relatives and carers, helping them to provide effective and sensitive support.

As well as therapy, I can offer a range of diagnostic assessments (e.g. Autism Spectrum Condition, Post-Traumatic Disorder, ADHD) and cognitive assessments to find out more about someone’s executive functioning, general intelligence, attention and concentration abilities and memory.
