Chartered Clinical Psychologist

I have worked in the area of mental health and well-being for the past twenty years. I have a broad range of experience working with people with a wide range of psychological difficulties including substance misuse problems, anxiety, depression and trauma. I have worked with young people and their families for the past 15 years. I currently work part time as a Clinical Psychologist in a Youth Offending Team, a specialist service attached to an NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. In that work I undertake assessments of young people (aged 10-17) and their families with complex needs, which may include risk and child protection issues; as well as individual therapy with young people. I also provide consultation to other professionals and supervision to trainee clinical psychologists.

I am presently undertaking training in family therapy. I use an integrative therapeutic approach employing CBT, solution-focused brief therapy, narrative therapy and other systemic approaches. I have also had training in EMDR. My overall approach is to help people discover their own resources to deal with difficult life issues.
