Psychology Sussex Community Services CIC is very pleased to inform you that we will be running a much needed weekly group for at risk males of all ages. The group will be co-funded by Psychology Sussex Ltd and The Big Lottery Fund which distributes half of the national lottery good cause funding across the UK. The Fund aims to enable others to make real improvements to communities and the lives of people most in need.
The group will be a free service for individuals who can be referred or self refer (Note: A GP referral letter is not required). Clients do not have to be registered with a GP in order to access our services and neither do they have to have a fixed abode. We will also accept referrals of clients who have a history of alcohol/substance misuse but only ask that clients do not attend sessions inebriated.
The group will run weekly (time tbc) and there will be an opportunity at the end of each session for clients to speak individually with any of the facilitators about any concerns they may have that have arisen during the evening. We have liaised with the local branch of the Samaritans who will be providing emergency care for clients in between sessions and we will discuss this with clients. with a maximum of ten clients per group - a waiting list will operate once a group is full.
The Group will be co-facilitated by Katy Baboulene, Chartered Counselling Psychologist, who has over 20 years of clinical experience, and Derek Gifford-May, Chartered Clinical Psychologist and will be run using an integrative psychological approach incorporating CBT techniques, relaxation training, Psycho-Education and resilience building strategies.
