Supervision is imperative for good clinical practice and as well as seeking the advice of senior colleagues (or similarly experienced colleagues for those that have been practicing for a number of years), supervision can also provide an opportunity for reflection and the improving of one’s clinical practice. We recognise that high quality supervision should offer professional support that enables the supervisee to grow in both their professional knowledge and competence as well as encouraging self-assessment and increasing the supervisee’s reflective capacities. Ultimately, effective supervision should ensure the safety and high quality of care being provided to clients/service users. These principles are born in mind at all times by our supervisors in the service we provide.
At Psychology Sussex we have practitioners that are experienced to offering supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists at all levels of their professional development – from trainees through to consultant level. We also offer one-off sessions for advice or continuing support, as required, to varying professionals including managers, health and educational specialists.
