I am an Integrative Psychotherapist, registered with the UKCP and BACP, having obtained my MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from Middlesex University and a Clinical Diploma from the Metanoia Institute.
I have been working at Psychology Sussex since 2021. Before this, I worked in many community settings including the Mid Sussex, Horsham, Sussex Community and Arun Counselling Centres. Previously, I was a teacher and then for 25 years, had several professional roles within the health and social care sector.
I have a special interest in working with people who experience one or more of the following: depression, anxiety, general life stress, work issues, relationship issues, different kinds of life trauma, loss or bereavement, difficult life transitions, life’s big questions.
My aim is to create a safe, supportive, therapeutic relationship by offering you a confidential space to explore what you need to bring. In working with you, I adopt an integrative approach tailored to your needs. I draw mostly on the psychodynamic, CBT, humanistic, and existential traditions, helping you to process the past in order to create the future which feels right for you. Sometimes if helpful, I may also use body-based, or trauma-informed approaches.
My aim is always to support you to gain what you need from these sessions. I work collaboratively, with clarity, honesty, integrity, respect and sometimes playfulness and humour. As an affirmative LGBTQIA+ practitioner, I value difference and diversity. I abide by my professional bodies’ regulatory frameworks, attending regular supervision and CPD activities.
